This is the new easter egg or easter egg
With Android 14 in constant evolution with the Pixel Feature Drop in beta, and in the process of deployment for many other manufacturers apart from Google, we are already looking to the future in 2024, the year in which we will know the new OS version: Android 15.
We know some details about this one: it will have a function to free up space without uninstalling apps, and of course, the dessert it refers to (you can imagine it with the cover of this article). Now, the new beta of Android 14 QPR3 – with final version for June – has revealed the easter eggs either Android 15 easter egg.
An uninspired easter egg, but with references
Today Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1 was released, the first test version that testers will be used to improve it for its official launch, scheduled for June. Thus, Google continues its software adventure with quarterly releases for its mobile phones: the Google Pixel.
As we have said before, this firmware contains a novelty that will not arrive in said final version, available for all users in June, but rather points out the nearest future of Android (beyond June, in case you don’t understand): that is, Android 15.
Google has slightly modified the Easter egg present in Android 14 to give a small welcome to its next iteration, whose dessert we learned will be vanilla ice cream. Therefore, this could tell us that Android 15 would not be that far away, or at least not its test versions.
With Android 14, we saw how Google continued its classic routine of offering a new easter egg with each new version, varying greatly from one year to the next. This one, as we said at the time, was curious and complicated although it made its reference to space flights clear.
Curiously, in the latest beta, it has changed again. Not too much, but enough to anticipate the future update. Instead of the circular insignia reminiscent of NASA, we now see a inverted triangle. Of course, retaining the same colors and the Android logo. What has been removed is the reference to “Android 14” that we saw in the previous Easter egg.
At the functionality level, there are no changes, although this inverted triangle refers to the letter (each version of Android is linked to a dessert and a letter of the alphabet) “V”. Coincidence or not, It is the letter corresponding to Android 15 and history seems to repeat itself in these betas: Google advances the next version by slightly tweaking the previous one easter eggs.
At the moment, it is the only reference – beyond feature leaks – to the fifteenth iteration of our favorite operating system. If we look back, we realize that it shouldn’t be too long before we see the first betas of Android 15 and this small preview would confirm it.
