User Satisfaction: Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones overtake the iPhone for the first time

Anyone who is interested in smartphones outside of the Apple cosmos has certainly taken a closer look at the new Galaxy S24 series: In addition to the powerful hardware, the devices impress with a variety of amazingly sophisticated AI functions. Samsung also lured early buyers with certain bonuses. For example, users received devices with twice the storage capacity at no extra charge and until February 19th. The company offers additional exchange bonuses for old devices. In fact, many owners of a Galaxy S24, S24+ or S24 Ultra are enthusiastic: A new report from PerfectRec points to many favorable reviews on Google. Samsung is leaving Apple behind for the first time.

S24 (Ultra) with many top ratings

PerfectRec bundles 5-star reviews that are available for a product on Google and then makes comparisons. The results for the smartphones in the new Galaxy S24 series speak for themselves: 91 percent of early adopters gave the basic model S24 the top rating, while the high-end version S24 Ultra received 88 percent. It is noticeable that the standard models once again perform better: The iPhone 15 (Plus) is also better off than its Pro counterpart (see here). Furthermore, the S24 (Ultra) is clearly more popular than the previous models. The S23 only received five stars from 75 percent of Google critics (Ultra: 82 percent), while for the S22 it was only 61 and 74 percent respectively.

Apple is falling behind Samsung

So far, each generation of the iPhone has had more top ratings than the Galaxy models, which were at best on par. Now Samsung has overtaken Apple: the offshoots of the current iPhone series do not achieve the high level of five-star reviews. However, PerfectRec points out that ratings for iPhones months shortly after their release are often worse than a few months later. It is therefore conceivable that the iPhones and Galaxy smartphones will become a little closer. If there are actually notable changes, an updated report will be published.
