Speakspots: the free Spanish AI to plan trips that responds to you on WhatsApp

It is very likely that you have not heard of Speakspots although it has been operating in Spain since the summer of 2021. A year before the launch of ChatGPT, I launched version 1.0 of Speakspots in Spain: a AI for smart trip planning with dozens of self-developed algorithms in JavaScript.

SpeakSpots was born as a web app to organize our visit in a practical and simple way, as well as to avoid leaving things pending to see.

The young man from Menorca Andrés Martínez, specialized in technology and analytics with an MBA from the prestigious London Business School, has developed this platform.

SpeakSpots allows us to plan our trip based on our visit dates and preferences. We choose a destination, select our favorite attractions, and the company’s intelligence engine (RoboSpots) personalizes the optimal itinerary for us, minute by minute.

For the last two years of the beta, I have been working on a version 2.0 that has just seen the light.

We have created a integration tailored with ChatGPT API that allows you talk on WhatsApp with Speakspots. The ChatGPT API acts as a translator between your Spanish and the JavaScript that Speakspots speaks.

The result is: a tour guide by WhatsApp.

Speakspots’ own intelligent algorithms

Speakspots it’s based on over 50,000 lines of code in JavaScript logic and its own database more than 25,000 tourist attractions.

The JavaScript engine is capable of doing more than 150,000 calculations every time a user creates a new trip, to find the perfect itinerary.

Factors such as the distance between attractions, the duration of each attraction’s visit, opening hours, the rain forecast or the price of tickets are taken into account each time a user creates a trip.

How to use the tool

From the website of Speakspotsyou can search for one of the 30 destinations now available in Europe.

In Spain, we already have available 18 destinations.

When selecting your destination, you only have to answer a 10 question quiz including your travel dates, budget and interests. In a few seconds and more than 150,000 calculations on average, Speakspots will generate a minute-by-minute itinerary tailored to you.

You can add, delete or reschedule attractions from your itinerary in a couple of clicks if something doesn’t convince you. And finally, you click on “Save Itinerary” to activate your itinerary on WhatsApp and start chatting with Speakspots about your itinerary or ask him anything else about your destination.
