Captain America’s shield is much more powerful after this improvement
At the end of last year, we shared with you this statement from Chris Evans, the former interpreter of Captain America at Marvel Studios, who made this announcement, which should please fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Steve Rogers has left his place to the new generation of superheroes in the Marvel cinematic universe. In that case, the character continues to be exploited in the comics, as evidenced by this new improvement to which his shield has been entitled.
A new power-up for Captain America’s shield
In the new Marvel Comics series called Captain America, which debuted last September, fans can find Steve Rogers renovating his childhood building. However, the holder of the Super-Soldier serum will quickly be caught up in his superhero duty when he is approached by Misty Knight, who will ask for help investigating a mysterious crime scene where one can see a drawing of his shield.
But before he can even delve into this supernatural affair, Steve will be directly confronted with the culprit, namely a serial killer named Henry Cavenaugh, who has the particularity of being endowed with the power of the demon The Emissary (lit. .: the emissary), bestowed by the fallen angel Asmoday. All this brings us to the comics Captain America #6 by J. Michael Straczynski and Lan Medina, released just this week, in which The Emissary once again confronts a member of the Avengers.
While the protagonist questions his opponent about his intentions, Asmoday reveals that the world is about to turn upside down and that Captain America is one of the most dangerous actors in this coming change, so he must take his life and “capture his soul.” And while the superhero tries as best he can to resist the demon’s attacks, he will be contacted by Doctor Strange, who will ask him to occupy him for a few more moments.
When Steve finally gives in to the attacks of The Emissary and ends up on the mat, the Sorcerer Supreme finally arrives to the rescue of his fellow superhero, granting him the power of the famous Eye of Agamotto, one of Doctor Strange’s most powerful artifacts. The mystical amulet of the Sorcerer Supreme will thus merge with Captain America’s shield, allowing the latter to overcome The Emissary and Asmoday. At least that’s what he thought because the former fallen angel seemed to have other tricks up his sleeve…
