Captain America 4 : This crazy rumor about the return of Hulk in the MCU sets the web on fire
Will come back, won’t come back? The theory about the Hulk’s return in Captain America 4 has been gaining momentum since actor Mark Ruffalo made some very enigmatic (and awkward) remarks during a recent interview.
Marvel’s rotten year, Disney’s new plans for the sequel
Marvel will certainly remember this year 2023. All of the company’s films (with the exception of guardians of the galaxy vol.3) picked up at the global box office, leaving spectators with a certain weariness with regard to its superheroes. Faced with this deleterious situation, Disney reacted last week by announcing a backpedal.
We will see it this year with the only Marvel film on the program: the highly anticipated Deadpool 3, on July 23 (see the trailer here). 2025, on the other hand, will be more substantial with Captain America 4, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts and finally Blade. However, be careful of possible postponements.
Mark Ruffalo’s reaction to Captain America 4
In fact, after Deadpool 3Marvel will bet on Captain America 4titled Brave New World to enhance its MCU. The film that will see Sam Wilson from the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Anthony Mackie) taking up the torch from Steve Rogers, will be accompanied in the casting by Thaddeus Ross, played this time by Harrison Ford, or even Liv Tyler, who reprises her role of Betty Ross.
What about Hulk, another Avenger whose rumors pointed to a possible return? Interviewed during a Q&A session about his career at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday, Mark Ruffalo did not fail to fuel the rumor, unless you have made a real dumpling, as usual.
When the moderator asked him the question: “You have Captain America: Brave World coming. Are you allowed to talk about it?” the actor responded with a “Yes, it’s going to be great.” Which implies that he will indeed be in the casting. However, several media, including the always very aware Variety denied the information.
According to sources, “he would have expressed himself badly”, thinking that the question revolved around the fact that Brave New World is one of the upcoming Marvel films. Enough to leave doubt, and to fuel the rumor. His intervention went viral on the networks. Some think that he made a mistake, and that he will be featured in the film, for example during an anthology fight against Red Hulk, the entity that Thaddeus Ross becomes in the comics.
On the other hand, everything suggests that Mark Ruffalo did not understand the meaning of the question. An awkwardness that the 57-year-old actor is accustomed to. We recall that he had spoiled the end ofAvengers: Infinity War in 2017 announcing that everyone was going to die. The same year, he accidentally livestreamed the first 20 minutes of Thor: Ragnarok, before spoiling this time Avengers: Endgame in 2019 by announcing Captain America’s marriage.
