Bad news for the rest of the anime
Last month, we revealed to you that Yusuke Murata, known, among other things, as the designer behind Eye Shield 21 or One Punch Man, had founded his animation studio called Village Studio. From then on, some rumors suggested that the mangaka and his studio could be in charge of the long-awaited next season of the anime One Punch Man. Unfortunately, Murata recently ended fan speculation with this post on his social media.
An endless wait for season 3 of One Punch Man
For those who missed it, One Punch Man is a manga written by ONE that debuted online in 2009. Subsequently, the work will be entitled to its manga adaptation from 2012, with Murata in charge of the drawings. But its popularity will explode thanks to its animated adaptation, particularly in the first season produced by Madhouse in 2015, which is probably one of the best seasons of the 2010s for any anime.
For the second season released in 2019, it was JC Staff who took up the torch. And although the studio is known for many classics, e.g. Toradora! But also Food Wars! For example, DanMachi, to name a few, season 2 failed to meet the expectations left by the previous season.
Since then, fans have been impatient to discover the rest of One Punch Man, but the problem is that we still need to find out who will be in charge of the new season. For a time, rumors suggested that it would be MAPPA that could take over the reins of the project, the famous studio having recently established itself in the sector thanks to several very popular titles, like Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Manbut also the Final Season of The attack of the Titans and season 2 of Vinland Saga.
And while others hoped it would be Murata who regained control of his baby, the mangaka recently shared this publication on his X account (formerly Twitter), thus pulling the rug out from under fans desperately waiting for season 3 of the anime.

In his message, Murata therefore confirms that he is not involved in the production of the third season of the anime One Punch Man. Because for his part, the mangaka is working on other projects, starting with Zaiyukian original anime inspired by the famous tale The Journey to the West and starring the equally famous Sun Wukong. For the moment, we therefore have no additional information regarding season 3 of One Punch Man which had however been confirmed in August 2022.
