Before Fantastic 4, Pedro Pascal almost was in this MCU series

Pedro Pascal is on all fronts! The star of The Mandalorian will play Reed Richards in the reboot of Fantastic Four while continuing to play the bounty hunter of Star Wars and the hero of The Last of, one of the most illegally downloaded shows in 2023. He has a busy schedule, which could have been even more so if he had not declined a role in this MCU series, for which he had applied in the past.

In 2014, Pedro Pascal’s notoriety exploded thanks to his role as Oberyn Martell in the series Game Of Thrones. Assassinated in the final episode of season 4, leaving the audience in shock, his histrionic character will have left his mark. At that time, the actor “lost” his place in the famous HBO program and was a candidate for Narcos, in which he got the role of Javier Pena. But to everyone’s surprise, the actor revealed during a question-and-answer session organized by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation that he came close to playing Daredevil in place!

Indeed, during a retrospective on his career, he explained thathe gave up the superhero character to be able to play in Narcosa role he was offered after the first casting choice backed out.

They were shocked to find out I was availablebecause the fight scene [de Game of Thrones, dans laquelle Oberyn meurt] had not yet been broadcast. So, really, it’s a [aveu] important. I auditioned for [Narcos]. I didn’t get the role. They offered it to someone else, and then that person backed out. But by then, the fourth season of Game Of Thrones was broadcast, and when the actor didn’t get the role, I auditioned for Daredevil for Marvel.

The role for which he was approached in Daredevil was not not that of Matt Murdock, but of a secondary character, a lawyer. A blessing in disguise, since the actor landed a leading role in the reboot of Fantastic 4 from Marvel, eventually ending up in the MCU!
