3 Reasons to Believe in this New Film
The least we can say is that Disney is relatively discreet regarding its Star Wars film projects. Lucasfilm, however, confirmed during the last Star Wars Celebration that it was continuing to work on the film. Star Wars: New Jedi Order which will probably be the next project in the saga to be released in theaters. Let’s take stock of the information we already have, and which should make us optimistic.
Talents at the helm
The screenplay for this film is written by Steven Knight. The latter is anything but a newcomer since he is the creator of Peaky Blindersa series notably acclaimed for its quality of writing.
In production, we will find Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy who is the first woman to direct a Star Wars project. Here again, this is not a beginner since we saw her at work on Miss Marvela series which is far from unanimous but which is not devoid of interest.
Guest of CNNthe latter was optimistic: “I’m very excited about this project because I feel like what we’re about to create is something very special. It’s 2024, and it’s about time a woman came to shape a story in a galaxy far, far away“.
An intriguing story
Concerning the scenario, Disney hasn’t been very talkative, but we do know that the film will take place 15 years after Episode IX in a period where the Jedi are in crisis and many are wondering if we still need two. Rey (Daisy Ridley) will therefore have to found a new Jedi order and her task does not look easy.
The actress also expressed herself on this subject: “The story is really cool. I’m waiting to read the script because, obviously, I have no other news. It’s not what I expected, but I’m very optimistic”.
Figures from the last trilogy back?
We know very little about the cast of this feature film, apart from the presence of Daisy Ridley in the main role. At his side, we could find John Boyega and Oscar Isaac in the roles of Finn and Poe Dameron. These two actors have established themselves in the hearts of spectators and their characters are now well anchored in the universe.
If many hoped for the presence of Adam Driver in the role of Kylo Ren, the latter indicated that he would no longer participate in Star Wars projects in the future.
