The official Play Store stops showing important app updates
Our Android mobile has access to an almost infinite catalog of applications, which, as you probably know, is Google Play Store. You can install it even if your smartphone doesn’t have it, and it was recently updated with a small change that improves the downloading of apps.
On this occasion we are not going to reveal new functions that reach the official store for Android, quite the opposite. As we read at 9to5Google, Play Store has stopped showing system app updates to users. This is the strange case, and we show you how to get around it.
The official Google store suffers problems
It is not very common that we talk about negative aspects of the Play Store, and the official store has improved over the years, both in functionalities and in the interface itself and its security. However, on occasion, applications with malware have been sneaked in, as happened last month.
Now on to what could be a mistake or simply a change in behavior (by decision of the search giant), the Google Play Store does not show available updates for system apps, which would leave many users out of the game.
Because? Basically, system apps are those that cannot be uninstalled, and for good reason. Certain functions of our phone depend on them so an error in an update or the omission of these can cause some problems.

The problem has been detected in the pending downloads screen, that section that we visit when the Play Store sends us a notification of available updates. Well then, system apps will not appear here despite the fact that those downloaded by the user will continue to appear normally.
According to information from the specialized media, the problem has been detected mainly with two applications: Settings Services and Google’s Wi-Fi Provisioner, with recent updates. The curious thing about the case is that the Play Store itself notifies users about “new updates”, but these will not appear when we visit the section.
Alternatively, the notification could warn of, for example, three pending updates, with only two appearing in the section. The source points to an intentional change, similar to when Google Play services are updated. Thus, Google could be expanding which system apps are treated in this way.
The real problem will affect those users who have the automatic updates disabled. How can you update these lost apps? Well, we would have to notice the updates through other means and then manually go to the list to update.
Be that as it may, we are waiting for an official confirmation from Google, to know if it is an intentional change – and therefore these apps will be updated automatically for everyone – or a specific problem.
